Parañaque City Colllege of Science and Technology (PCCST) was established on October 7, 2000 through the effort of the Honorable Joey P. Marquez, Mayor of Parañaque City. It is guided by the principle of universal access to education where poverty is not a hindrance to attain training in Science and Technology in order to uplift one’s quality of life, contribute to the progress of the country and participate competitively in a technologically-driven global community.

City ordinance no. 0017 authorized by then Councilor Fidelino Bengzon gave birth to the college. The City Council chaired by the Hon. Vice-Mayor Florencio M. Bernabe approved the ordinance with an initial appropriation of 10 million pesos.

PCCST is offering courses in Information Technology (Programmer and Encoder), Consumer Electronics Technology (Computer Technician), Electrical Technology, Electrical Technology and Garments Technology.

The college is temporarily using the classrooms of Parañaque Elementary School Unit II, Parañaque Elementary School Central and San Dionisio Elementary School when it first opened its doors during the second semester, School Year 2000 – 2001 and was able to accommodate 212 students. The next semester saw a 50% increase in enrolment with 427 students coming from the different barangays in Parañaque.

 

During its first year of operations, the PCCST Board of Regents was originally composed of the following:

During School Year 2002-2003. The Board of Regents had new members namely, Honorable Fe Factor, City Councilor, Who replaced ex-councilor Fidelino Bengzon and Mr. Eduardo G. Ong who was requested to represent the business sector in place of Mr. Bing Braganza.

PCCST is headed by Dr. Isabel R. Reyes as College Administrator. She is ably assisted by the chairpersons of the different committees:

Administrative and Finance Committee   -Mrs. Milagros B. Ramos

Student Affairs     -Mrs. Belen L. Calilung

The college Registrar is Mrs. Magdalena S. Galiluyo and the Guidance Counselor is Mrs. Pelagia C. Sandoval.
